How To Be Happy

Sometimes life gives you lemons, and you have to decide what to do with them. Being positive to achieve happiness in life is important. There are so many negative people in the world, and not getting sucked in can be hard! How can some people be so happy while others are miserable? Simple. Positive people work on themselves and look out for others.

  • 1. Put on a Happy Face When You Feel Unhappy
    • This sounds so silly but several studies have shown that smiling for 30 to 60 seconds will boost your mood when your feeling down. Try it!
  • 2. Exercise Regularly
    • So many people convince themselves they don’t have time. Even 20-30 minutes a day will help. Take the stairs, walk around and get steps in on a break. The more excuses, the more unhappy you’ll be. YouTube has thousands of ideas for at home and office workouts. Make time, and do it.
  • 3. Sleep
    • Sleep effects your physical and mental health. We know it’s important so why don’t we do it? You can be a lot less grouchy and less dependent on coffee if you get 7-8 hours of sleep.
  • 4. Challenge Yourself In Leisure Activities
    • Find a hobby that you enjoy and challenge yourself. Reading, rock climbing, and yoga are my favorites. There are so many hobbies and so many ways to advance. Find one and go for it!
  • 5. Prioritize Your Closest Relationships
    • When you do this, you are choosing to spend time with the ones that mean the most to you, and that will help you be a happier person. Enjoy time with those around you and it will make them smile, too.
  • 6. Keep a Gratitude Journal
    • Keep a journal where you’ll remember to write in it. It could be beside your bed, in your desk at the office, or next to the treadmill. When you write in this you could write down the same thing every day, or new things from every day. This journal will remind you to be grateful for everything you have.
